Jenkins manufactures dry-type autotransformers designed for superior performance and durability. We accommodate all varieties, including custom designs and unique tap configurations. Our skilled technicians specialize in rewinding both dry-type autotransformers and oil-filled transformers to meet original OEM specifications. Additionally, we produce smaller metering transformers and specialty coils tailored to your specific needs. Every transformer we manufacture or rewind undergoes rigorous load testing on Jenkins Gen3 Series Motor Test Systems to ensure quality and reliability.

What brands of transformers do you distribute in addition to manufacturing new or rewinding?
We distribute Variable Transformers, Voltage Regulators, and Uninterruptible Power Supplies from Staco Energy Products and Superior Electric Company.
Our product range includes Control Transformers, General Purpose Transformers, Drive Isolation Transformers, and Line Reactors manufactured by Dongan Electric Manufacturing, Powertran Corporation, and Rex Power Magnetics. While Dongan and Powertran specialize in 600V class units, Rex offers both 600V class and Medium Voltage designs.
Additionally, we supply Current Transformers, Voltage Transformers, and Control Transformers from General Electric’s Instrument Transformer Inc.

What is the voltage you can rewind up to?
We typically rewind transformers for customers with 120V, 208V, 240V, 480V, 600V, 2300V, 4160V and 6600/7200V designs.

What applications are used for metering transformers?
These transformers are used to step down either a high voltage or a high current for inputs to meters, sensors or safety trips. As examples, a HV Potential Transformers may be used to step down voltage from 4160 Volts to 120 Volts for a scaled meter or a sensor input. Likewise, a 2000:5 ratio Current transformer may be used to step down from 2000 Amperes to 5 Amperes for a scaled meter or a sensor input.

What materials are used to rewind and dry-type autotransformers?
We rewind transformers with Copper conductor, Nomex and Copaco insulation finished with Voltatex 4200 impregnating resin.

What are dry-type autotransformers used for?
Dry-Type Autotransformers can be used for simple 1-phase step down of voltages or in large 3-phase Reduced Voltage Motor Starters.

What kind of specialty coils do you manufacture?
We measure dimensions and disassemble damaged coil samples to gather detailed winding data. This enables us to produce equivalent replacements for obsolete or unavailable coils tailored to specific applications. Additionally, we can modify this data to accommodate various voltage ratio requirements.
