WE ARE PROUD TO BE
POWERED BY HUMAN ENERGY.

Since our inception and still today, our greatest asset by far are our people: the engineers, machinists, technicians, and customer service managers make Jenkins what we are. Our people power and drive us forward—they are the human energy and ingenuity that have kept us going for more than a century, and have kept all things electromechanical moving, too.

Technical Team

Edward Jenkins, Jr., PhD, P.E.

  • CHAIRMAN, SENIOR ENGINEERING ADVISER

Edward Jenkins has more than 40 years of experience in electrical engineering. Prior to joining the family business, Edward was a professor at Edinburgh University in Scotland and UNCC. In 1971, he joined Jenkins Electric as Vice President. Here, he developed and improved repair procedures and test equipment for electrical motors and transformers. In 1993, Edward became President of Jenkins and was responsible for management of all industrial electrical equipment repair and sales. Edward now provides consulting and diagnostic services to clients that have complex requirements and specifications.

Wayne Hall, P.E.

  • VICE PRESIDENT OF ENGINEERING, ELECTROMECHANICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIR
  • LEVEL 3 VIBRATION ANALYST

Wayne Hall has more than 40 years of experience in electrical engineering and is a second-generation Jenkins employee. In fact, his grandfather worked at Jenkins for 60 years as a winder. Prior to Jenkins Electric, Wayne was a student of Edward Jenkins, and was an engineer at Duke Power, where he gained a broad understanding of power distribution and circuit design. In his 40 years at Jenkins Electric, Wayne has served as Electrical Engineer and is now our Vice President of Engineering, but still spends a great deal of his time on the shop floor, hands-on. He provides diagnostic services to our clients that have complex requirements, and performs vibration analysis and consulting to both improve and prolong the service life of their equipment.

Darrell Gaskey

  • VICE PRESIDENT, ENGINEERED SYSTEMS & SERVICES

With more than 29 years’ experience, Darrell has worked as an operations manager and design engineer, managing automation products, services, and procedures. Darrell has a variety of knowledge in the fields of electromechanical, nuclear, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, recycling and test & measurement. Darrell oversees the engineered systems & services business at Jenkins, providing key insight from the automation industry. Darrell has a degree in automation and robotics engineering and has studied electrical engineering.

Larry Blackwelder

  • SENIOR SALES ENGINEER, TRANSFORMERS & MOTOR TEST SYSTEMS

With more than 45 years of experience in electrical engineering, Larry began at Jenkins Electric in 1975 as the Transformer Department manager, handling product design, manufacturing, testing, sales and customer applications assistance. Over the next four decades, his duties expanded to include the design, development and sales of Jenkins Motor Test Supply Systems, in addition to co-developing and selling our test documentation systems. During his career, Larry has worked to develop and implement safer testing procedures and incremental product design improvements in our equipment, based on the availability of newer, better components and on the suggestions of our employees or customers.

Phil Wilhelm

  • PRINCIPAL ENGINEER

Phil earned his degree in electrical engineering from UNC Charlotte and has served as a plane captain in the US Navy. With more than 25 years’ experience, Phil has worked as a network and automation engineer, bringing his knowledge of software coding and customer support to Jenkins. Phil designs and creates software for our automation business as our Principal Engineer, providing custom engineered solutions.

Operations Team

Brandy Bivins

  • SHELBY GENERAL MANAGER

Brandy Bivins has over 25 years of experience in the electromechanical industry. Working closely alongside her father in motor repair for several years prior to his retirement, she now brings that knowledge and expertise to Jenkins. With a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Brandy works to deliver outstanding service and support to our customers and is always just a phone call away.

Matt Hall

  • REPAIR OPERATIONS MANAGER

Matt began working in the Repair side of Jenkins alongside his dad, Wayne, 15 years ago. As the business has expanded, so has Matt’s role. As the Repair Operations Manager, Matt works with our motor shop technicians, winders, machinists and customer service teams, to keep the workflow efficiently moving.

Jim Huskins

  • MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS MANAGER

A manufacturing industry veteran, Jim came to Jenkins in 2022 and quickly acclimated to our unique motor shop environment. Jim oversees our parts production including the foundry and machine shop. Managing our CNC machinists, waterjet and pattern making are all part of Jim's day-to-day activities. You will probably catch him talking shop over lunch with his two sons who are now a part of the Jenkins family too.

Paul Herrera

  • HYDRO PROJECT MANAGER

The newest addition to the Jenkins Hydro Team is Paul Herrera. Paul has extensive experience with large and multilayered industrial projects, and his status as a Senior Airman in the United States Airforce for 4 years, has prepared him for the project management demands of long term hydrogeneration projects. In his free time, Paul volunteers on the Be There Dad, Hawk Squad, at J.V. Washam Elementary School in the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system.

Ryan Ossmann

  • GENERAL MANAGER, WHEELER BEARING COMPANY

Ryan Ossmann is General Manager at Wheeler Bearing Company, powered by Jenkins. As a trained machinist with more than 25 years of experience in the motor repair industry, Ossmann leads the manufacturing operations at Wheeler to ensure the highest level of quality. He can be reached at [email protected].

Management Team

Iain Jenkins

  • PRESIDENT

Iain Jenkins is the third-generation to work in the family business, beginning with Jenkins at the age of 14. With a focus on employee and business development, he can most often be found on the shop floor rather than in his office. Doing right by his employees and their families is one of his top priorities, as is building strong, lasting relationships with customers. After earning his MBA from Emory University, Iain returned to Charlotte to work alongside his father, Edward, and the many employees who’ve known him since he was a child.

Crystal Bristow

  • EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Crystal Bristow's role at Jenkins perfectly blends her upbringing and industry experience. She also doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, a must-have at Jenkins. After years of leading the marketing efforts at Jenkins, Crystal naturally evolved into Executive Vice President. In this role she steers the design and implementation of the organization's strategic and marketing master plans in an effort to continue the legacy of the 115+-year-old organization.
